It’s no secret that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a highly anticipated video game for this entire year. A video game that would mark as the conclusion to Nathan Drake, nearly ten years after he first appeared in the video game Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Now as we’re nearing the launch date for the fourth main installment of the Uncharted franchise, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to avoid spoilers. Because of recent events that are leading to the story leak of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bruce Straley, the game director for Naughty Dog, has become infuriated tweeting out his frustrations.
Putting yourself in not only the shoes of Bruce Straley, but anyone and everyone who has worked on the game development , it would be a massive letdown knowing that your work was leaked, sold early, or completely stolen before the video game is set to release in mere weeks.
In fact, Naughty Dog has been facing a number of issues with the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Not only have there been reports of select stores selling Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End early, but there were copies of the game stolen during transit.
Even President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, has spoken on the matter stating that with most video games from the development studio Naughty Dog, unfolding of the story is an integral part of the experience. This was meant to sway gamers from seeking out the storyline and spoiling themselves from what developers were hoping gamers would experience firsthand.
Now Bruce Straley, the game director for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, has tweeted out to his followers, pleading to blackout all media in hopes fans are not spoiled. He went on to ask fans to unfollow him until the game launches stating to “trust no one”.
We work hard to preserve the experience. So when you play, it feels fresh & the beats land properly. Sucks it could be spoiled.

I’d like to recommend media blackout for all #Uncharted4 fans. Unfollow me, turn off your computer, & just wait by the mailbox til May 10! ?

Trust no one. “@HecklerCS: @bruce_straley Why unfollow you? You’re not going to start tweeting out spoilers, are you? :o”
