We have new details on Marvel Rivals; datamined from the alpha builds that is going through testing right now.
This information comes from Miller Ross on Twitter, who most recently became quite notorious for sharing early leaks and datamining for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. While Miller’s defending of that title ultimately did not hold up to scrutiny, the information he datamined did, so we believe this information is credible as well.
Ross starts off with a list of the playable characters, which has now jumped from the confirmed 19 characters to 39:
- 1011 Hulk
- 1014 Punisher
- 1015 Storm
- 1016 Loki
- 1017 Human Torch
- 1018 Doctor Strange
- 1020 Mantis
- 1021 Hawkeye
- 1022 Captain America
- 1023 Rocket Raccoon

- 1047 Jeff the Landshark
- 1048 Psylocke
- 1049 Wolverine
- 1050 Invisible Woman
- 1051 The Thing
- 1052 Iron Fist (Lin Lie)
We have chosen to share the code numbers Miller Ross gave with each character. The numbers seem to indicate the order in which each character is being worked on.
As an interesting aside, the latest character in the list, Lin Lie, is one that Netease made themselves! Lin debuted in the 2018 web comic Warrior of the Three Sovereigns, which was made by Marvel and Netease to appeal to the Chinese market. Lin was originally Sword Master, descendant of one of the said Sovereigns. He later made his debut in the American Marvel comics continuity, and would eventually lose his Sword Master powers, only to then become the new Iron Fist.
There are five named locations, each of which have their own maps:
- Hydra Erebus Base
- The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda
- Klyntar
- Empire of Eternal Night
- Krakoa
Finally, when it comes to skins, Miller confirms these skins in the latest build:
Original
- Mantis – Galactic Protocol
- Spider-Man – 2099: Spider-Punk
- Rocket Raccoon – 1872: Bounty Hunter
Comic
- Hulk – Green Scar (Incredible Hulk Vol 2 #102)
- Punisher – Thunderbolts (Thunderbolts Vol. 2 #1)
- Loki – President Loki (Vote Loki Vol.1 #1)
- Doctor Strange – God of Magic (Doctor Strange Vol.1 #383)
- Iron Man – 1872: Steam Power (1872 Vol.1 #3)
- Star-Lord – Master of the Sun (Guardians of Galaxy Vol.6 #9)
There is also a Hela – Ultimate skin, based on her appearance in Ultimatum Vol.1 #2. Her skin isn’t in a playable state yet, but there’s a description of it in the alpha build. No MCU skins are ready either, but they are definitely coming.
While none of this has anything to do with whether the game will be good, Marvel fans will surely be interested in what they can expect to see in this game. So let’s hope that Netease manages to make it one that’s for more than just Marvel fans to play.
