The Nintendo Switch is getting close to celebrating its eighth year of existance, and while the next console is currently in the makes, Nintendo still believes the original Switch still has some good sales in it. However, the life spead of the console is still coming to an end, with the sales slowing up – mainly because almost everyone owns a Switch at this point.
According to IGN, the console released in March 2017, making over 15.7 milion just in the last financial year. However, there has been a decline of 12.6% this previous year before that. In a receny report, the company stated: “Nintendo Switch has entered its eighth year since launch, and while it will be challenging to sustain the same sales momentum as before, we will work to maintain high user engagement with the hardware and invigorate the platform so that more consumers continue to play Nintendo Switch for longer.”
Now with a Nintendo Direct officially announced for June, which won’t reveal the next console but insteadthe Direct will announce games that are set to release for the rest of year before the console will be announced before March 2025. It will definitely be a slower year but hopefully the Direct will bring some more games that players will be excited to play.
Depending on what games are announced, it could be a selling point for the console in the next few months before it gets its big brother. The next console is likely to be anounced late 2024.
