When you’re developing a video game, you have to try and predict the various things that gamers will do within the game so that you can plan ahead and program things properly. You have to think about how they would react to situations in-game, whether they’ll try to do something unexpected in a situation or just button mash to try and get through the problem. You can’t predict everything, but you can attempt to get into their “mind space” to see what you can provide, and that’s what the team at Stellar Blade did. After all, some fans just found one of the “jokes” they put in for gamers who do a certain thing with the game’s protagonist.
On Reddit, as you can see below, one gamer decided to put the game’s camera right near Eve and just stare. This isn’t something out of the ordinary because the game’s team ensured that Eve’s looks were as good as they can be, even modeling her on a Korean Idol, or superstar, to further enhance the “connection” she would have with fans.
At first, nothing happens when you stare at Eve, and then Eve starts to stare back. To the point where she’s not just staring at you, she follows the camera around as you try and move away from her! This “fourth wall break” likely freaked out the Redditor and others when they first saw it, and indeed, the Reddit comments were rather hilarious about it being both cool and creepy all at the same time.
If you stare too long, Eve stares back.

The reason it is so funny from our perspective is because of Stellar Blade’s dev team. They knew from the beginning that one of the biggest assets of the game was Eve. They even admitted that not only did they go and model her overall looks off of that Korean Idol, but that they put a lot of detail into the back part of her character because “that’s what people were going to look at most of the time within the game.”
There is also the fact that throughout the game and its Game Plus mode, you can get all sorts of outfits to dress Eve up in. Some of them include the “skin suit,” which makes her look like she’s not wearing any clothes, looking like a teddy bear, and more.
In other words, they were fine with gamers staring at Eve. But, apparently, they also wanted them to know that Eve could stare back.
