Mortal Kombat 1 players with the Kombat Pack will be able to snag Ermac as the newest DLC character on April 16, while the powerful persona will be made available to everyone else on April 23.
A new gameplay trailer shows of Ermac’s impressive skillset, including everything from levitation and teleportation to spirit summoning.
Additionally, the trailer features the player’s first glimpse at Mavado, an upcoming Kameo fighter that can be summoned to help in battle by using support moves. The Kameo character DLC will be made available sometime in May.
Ermac first debuted in the 1995 title Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Created by the souls of dead warriors, his unique telekinetic abilities have made him a fan-favorite character for decades.
Mortal Kombat 1 managed to snag the Best Multiplayer Game Award at the Golden Joystick Awards in 2023. It was also nominated for Best Fighting Game and Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2023, along with Fighting Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Animation at the 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards 2024.
Crossplay was added to Mortal Kombat 1 in February and supports players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Mortal Kombat 1 was released on September 19, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S and has sold over 3 million copies.
