The PlayStation Showcase is called the State of Play and it showcases first party Sony games and other AAA games coming to the PS5, PSVR2, and other PlayStation consoles as well as tech. The last State of Play was hosted just a few months ago, in January, showing off some new things for games like Death Stranding 2, Stellar Blade, Until Dawn, and some others. However, it seems Sony is getting prepared to host yet another one.
There have been many claims as of recent according to Insider Gaming that PlayStation‘s next State of Play could be revealed for next month, May. However, having two showcases almost back to back like this hardly ever happen and usually never do, so if this were to be the case, it would seemingly be odd.
The claims are coming straight from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, where he said, “I’ve heard that there will be a PlayStation ‘something’ – either a State of Play or a Showcase, next month in May, so this is probably going to be there.”
As of right now, there is no official news about whether or not this State of Play will actually come in May, but it is highly seemingly iffy about it being true. We’d take the news with a grain of salt and wait and see what progresses from future outlets and Sony themselves before fully believing that the showcase is happening. For now, let’s keep an eye out for more PlayStation 5 game releases.
