Borderlands developer Gearbox is gearing up to release Battleborn early next month. Ahead of its release, the studio has published a motion comic series for the game with a prequel story leading up to the events of the game’s co-op missions.
For those not in the know, Battleborn is a first-person shooter with both competitive MOBA elements and a dedicated single-player/co-op campaign mode. Players can choose from dozens of heroes, each with their own unique weapons and abilities, to do battle against each other in arenas and participate in the storyline. More stories will be added after the game is out.
If you’re not excited, we put together a list with some good reasons why you should check it out.
The comic is released as a three-part series set before the events of the episodic campaign that shows how all of the galaxy’s greatest heroes got together, and why.
“Witness Trevor Ghalt’s heroic rise as leader of The Battleborn, as an unlikely alliance between the universe’s greatest heroes becomes the last line of defense for a universe on the brink of extinction.”
You can check out the all the motion comics below, along with their descriptions.
Battleborn comes out on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 3.
