Unknown Worlds Entertainment has released a new trailer for Natural Selection 2, showcasing the game's unique blend of first-person shooter and real-time strategy gameplay. Things seem to be comping together nicely, with everything from the original Natural Selection intact and on display in gorgeous fashion alongside some new gameplay additions and improvements.
Originally released as a multiplayer mod for Half Life back in 2002, Natural Selection earned a considerable fanbase and wide critical acclaim for its asymmetric aliens versus space marines gameplay. The team behind the mod went on to found Unknown Worlds and begin work on Natural Selection 2, which runs on their proprietary Spark engine.
The PC-exclusive Natural Selection 2 is expected to launch sometime this summer. The game is currently available for pre-order on the official website in limited quantities, with a pricetag of $34.95. Picking it up early will net you immediate access to the beta, which is currently underway on Steam.
