Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 has had a following with fans eager to see how the franchise continues. However, it has not been smooth sailing for game development. Since 2004, fans have been waiting for a sequel to come out, and it finally looked positive when Hardsuit Labs was unveiled to be working on the project. However, since then, it has seen a series of delays to Paradox Interactive outright moving the game to another studio. In 2021, the project was handed off to The Chinese Room, where the game development was able to progress forward.
Today, the development studio opted to share some new gameplay footage of how the game is shaping up. Of course, this is still being developed as the team continues to work through the project. We might be inching our way closer to the finish line, and if you want to see how the game is holding up, there’s a brand new trailer drop. It’s a shorter video giving a look at the gameplay and mechanics in action. But hopefully, there’s enough here to keep you eagerly anticipating its release into the marketplace.
Fortunately, that is not the only video drop today. The developers released an extended video with the creative director, Alex Skidmore, and community manager, Joshua Matthews. This extended video is about a half-hour long, and it provides some new overall insight into the game. Of course, those looking to avoid anything spoiler-related might want to steer clear and wait for the official game to drop into the marketplace.
But if you’re interested in the commentary with the developers on the project, then you can also find the extended gameplay footage right here. It does provide some details, such as feeding in combat. Essentially, being a vampire, you are gaining health through feeding, and the developers showcase it in action during the gameplay footage. If you’re low on health, you can feed on a weaker enemy. This also helps provide some additional resources to power your abilities.
Currently, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is still in development, but the developers will hopefully be able to deliver the game by the end of this year. While we wait for the specific release date, we know that the title will be made available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. In the meantime, you can view the new gameplay trailer video down below.
