Antistatic Studios Formed From Skilled Industry Veterans

January 30, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Their first game teased.

A brand new studio has been formed with several veterans from the gaming industry. It’s not uncommon for some studios to get started up from teams breaking away from their past studio. Today, we’re learning about Antistatic Studios. This studio was also formed by several industry veterans who have helped bring out video games like Cyberpunk 2077, BioShock, Borderlands, and Conan Exiles, to name just a few of their past projects. However, their latest game is a new upcoming PvE shooter that has a teaser for you to check out.

The upcoming project is called Hornet, which could be a working title for now. This is a PvE cooperative tactical shooter with players taking the role of a field agent operative. In the game, players work for a special organization called Mortfield Industries, which has its agents seeking out and containing paranormal activity. We know the game is set within a post-nuclear European continent; there’s no telling just what secrets and dangers you’ll uncover.

According to the Antistatic Studios website, the game is also described to be a procedurally-assisted open world with dynamic events, multiple factions, and entities. Furthermore, it was noted that the inspiration for this upcoming title comes from the developer’s passion for supernatural and war stories. It might be a good while before we get our next look at the game, but again, we have the teaser trailer embedded below if you’re interested in checking out the upcoming Hornet game. But again, don’t expect to see it launch anytime soon, as it seems that there is still the need to hire more talented individuals for the studio.

Currently, Antistatic Studios aims to deliver a detailed world and lore that will help keep players immersed for hours on end. If that sounds of interest, then there will soon be a new push to hire staff for various departments in the coming months. In the meantime, we’ll have to keep an eye out for Antistatic Studios’ debut title and what the future will hold for this team as they break new ground working independently. We’ve certainly seen some studios thrive shortly after being formed, and it’s welcoming news to hear studios forming after the past several months of hearing various studio closures and layoffs. Just this week, we have heard reports of Embracer Group killing off a Deus Ex game and laying more staff off. So, hearing news of a studio being formed rather than taken down is a welcoming change.
