Well, Fortnite is at it again! With Chapter 5 Season 1 going on, fans can expect more outfits/skins for their characters to don to have fun within the game further. At this point, you can literally just count the number of skins by what franchises HAVEN’T been in the game. By this point, it’s a large list of included series/franchises. Case in point, after a LONG wait, gamers can finally become Solid Snake via the “Big Bang Battle Pass.” You can have him be either the classic version of Snake or you can have him be Old Man Snake; the choice is yours.
But fans are already hungry for more, and as one insider has found out via some art, it appears that Raiden will be joining Solid Snake within Fortnite soon enough. But, what might surprise you is that it won’t be his “epic look” from the franchise’s latter titles that will be in the game, but the original look via Metal Gear Solid 2. Check it out below.
There are multiple reasons why this is a curious choice and one that many will discuss. First and foremost, while Raiden is a classic character, he didn’t start out that way. Hideo Kojima threw fans for a loop when the focus of the second game in the “Solid Saga” wasn’t about Snake but about Raiden. Remember, the first entry was a revelation to many, and they expected it to focus on Snake throughout his story, but that wasn’t to be.
Plus, while Raiden was “unique,” it wasn’t in the way that resonated with players initially. The game is still the most divisive in Kojima’s saga, and that says something. The reason he became so beloved is because of how he was eventually kidnapped and transformed into a robot ninja. This version of Raiden was epic in every sense of the word, including being able to breakdance with giant robots strapped to his legs and using said robots to try and attack an opponent. And that’s just ONE of the crazy things he did while in robot form.
That doesn’t even mention his eventual solo title, where the memes about his character and the villain attached to him became legendary. And no, we won’t back that up with a source because we didn’t make it up!
Now, Epic Games may drop the other version of Raiden like they dropped the two versions of Solid Snake. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
