It's been a long time coming with scant announcements regarding the Wii-exclusive RPG, The Last Story, but the game's developer Mistwalker has finally announced the game's official release date.
The Last Story, which has been available in Japan since January 2011, is slated for release in Europe on February 24, 2012. Australia will also see its release on February 23.
Following the announcement, the game will also come in the form of a Limited Edition which includes a Steelbook cover, and an "Elements of the Last Story" package which includes a soundtrack CD and an art booklet. The music is composed by Nobuo Uematsu, of Final Fantasy fame.
The Last Story takes place in the fictional land of Lazulis Island, where the player controls a group of mercenaries who've come to the island in search of work. The game is said to be grounded in 'hard' fantasy.
There is no word on when the game will see release in the United States and Canada.
