Bethesda has been known for delivering some thrilling RPGs into the marketplace. But they have slowly dipped their toes into the mobile market. We’re used to seeing developers and publishers release ports for past games on the mobile platform. More impressive title ports are being released, with new devices proving better suited for gaming. It was a bit of a surprise when Bethesda unveiled Fallout Shelter, a game that was being developed for mobile devices rather than consoles and PC. But if you enjoyed that game, then you might be interested in The Elder Scrolls: Castles.
It was back in 2015, during E3, that Bethesda officially unveiled Fallout Shelter. This was set to be a free-to-play management game where you oversaw a vault and its inhabitants. Players would work to earn resources and build up their vault. The game received mixed reviews, but it’s still available and supported today. You can download the game on a wide variety of platforms as well. Initially made for mobile devices, Fallout Shelter has since been ported to PC and console platforms over the years.
Now, it looks like Bethesda has another mobile game coming our way soon. The Elder Scrolls: Castles is not necessarily new. It seems that this mobile game was actually released last year but without any formal marketing or reveals. That game was removed last year, and now Bethesda has opted to officially unveil it and get fans excited for its new release. Overall, the game is looking to follow a similar gameplay style found in the previously mentioned Fallout Shelter. Players are building up a dynasty as they rule over citizens and attempt to make their kingdom thrive.
Unfortunately, if you are expecting to jump on your iPhone or Android smartphone to give this game a download, you’re out of luck. Bethesda unveiled on their X social media platform account that this title is currently only available in the Philippines. However, over the next few months, you will find more regions to add to the mix. For now, you can preregister on iPhone or Android. That will at least prepare you for the game download as soon as it becomes available. Meanwhile, if it follows the same trend as Fallout Shelter, we should eventually see this game get ported over to consoles and PC. But as of right now, it’s only slated to be a mobile release.
