Blizzard has released a new trailer highlighting Overwatch character Tracer ahead of the ranged assassin’s addition to the Heroes of the Storm roster later this month.
Mobility and speed make her a deathly force on the battlefield, with Tracer being able to dash a short distance. If you’ve saved up enough charges, she can do so three times before teleporting back to her original position after a few seconds. That’s more than enough time for her to wreck havoc on enemy characters, especially those who use skill shots and abilities that need to be aimed. This is an especially useful ability, as she’s the only character who can attack while moving.
In the video, we also see how Tracer’s Heroic abilities can be customised once she reaches level 10. While other characters have a choice of two Heroics once they reach that level, Tracer begins the match with one Heroic and has the opportunity to choose from one of three talents that adjust to its behaviour. Furthermore, she’s only able to use this talent once she’s filled up a damage bar in the same way Overwatch players unlock their characters’ Ultimate ability.
Players who have pre-ordered a digital copy of Overwatch through Blizzard’s store on Battle.net will be able to start using Tracer from Tuesday, April 19th. Everyone else will need to wait a week until April 26th.
Overwatch is set for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 24th. It is currently undergoing stress testing ahead of launch. For more on the game, check out our dedicated tag.
