Grand Theft Auto fans have waited years for Rockstar Games to unveil the next major installment. After 2013, fans have been stuck playing Grand Theft Auto V and its online counterpart, Grand Theft Auto Online. However, we were given our first look into Grand Theft Auto VI this month. Despite being only a trailer that’s under two minutes in length, there are tons of references and Easter Eggs that fans have been pointing at. We know that the main setting in this upcoming title will be centered around Vice City. However, there’s also the reference to another location. That’s at least what some fans point towards as a clue to where the campaign might take players.
While we know that Vice City is likely quite an expansive area to explore, Rockstar Games might have a mission or two centered around Haiti. Thanks to Comicbook.com, we’re finding out that fans noted a Haiti flag in one of the scenes in the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. This flag is brief and even tough to say for sure that it is the flag for Haiti. But if it is, some fans are speculating that because this flag is in the trailer, there could be a clue here that we might be venturing out to Haiti in some capacity. Of course, there is another possibility that the publication we’re sourcing brought up.
This flag could very well be used as decor to represent Little Haiti, a neighborhood located in Miami. This could be another play on a fictional town since Vice City is the fictionalized version of Miami in the game. There’s no telling just what exactly Rockstar Games has planned in terms of locations the game will be based around. Likewise, we’re just dealing with the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, so plenty more marketing materials will likely be released to help clue players in on what exactly this new installment will feature.
Grand Theft Auto VI is also not set to release until sometime in 2025. That means we have all of 2024 to look for marketing materials and Rockstar Games interviews to paint a better picture of the next game. Of course, we know that when Grand Theft Auto VI releases, it will be available for Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5 platforms. It will also be quite a massive release, as the trailer alone already broke some major records. We imagine that there could be some new record-breaking numbers coming from Grand Theft Auto VI when it hits the marketplace. In the meantime, you can view the announcement trailer for the upcoming GTA title in the video we have embedded below.
