The wait is nearly over. Super Mario Bros Wonder is almost here, and fans can’t wait to play it for various reasons. Easily, one of the biggest reasons is that the game is one of the highest-rated titles of 2023, and people want to see how great it is compared to what the critics say. But another reason gamers are excited about it is that players can use numerous new power-ups and abilities and want to try them out in spades. Not surprisingly, one of the ones that players love the most is the ability to turn into an elephant.
When you’re “Elephant Mario” or use the ability on other characters, you’ll become basically a tank that can take on foes, make the ground move under your feet, and use your trunk to spray water at enemies and other objects. If you use said ability on flowers, you can make them bloom, giving you coins or letting you access other parts of the level!
Today, it was revealed that a special plushie of Elephant Mario will come to Japan in 2024. It’s possible that said plushie could make its way to other countries, but for now, it’s a Japan exclusive. It’ll be 10 inches tall, and it has an adorable quality to it that gamers will enjoy.
If you want further proof of how hyped Super Mario Bros Wonder has gotten leading up to its launch, you need only look at the sales charts for Amazon. The game is at #1 across numerous nations, including the United States, the UK, and Japan. The game already seems to be heading toward a big launch, and one can only imagine just how big it’ll get after a few days. There is indeed some “competition” out there for gamers’ attention, but this title and its “web-slinging rival” are exclusive to two different systems, and the Switch has a bigger install base than the PS5. Just saying.
Fans are also looking forward to the other power-ups in the game, such as the drill hat. Players will be able to use that to dig not just into the ground but into the ceilings and other overhanging structures that they can reach with it. They can also get a powerful bubble that will help them make platforms or defeat enemies by consuming them in the bubbles.
