It might seem a little tacky to throw shade at Cyberpunk 2077, given how it’s been in recent months and now that its beloved DLC is out and about. But the truth is that the game still hasn’t fully embraced what CD Projekt Red said it would, and there are still many issues holding the game back. We’ll give the team credit. They have gone above and beyond to try and fix things, even spending $125 million after the game’s launch to try and fix things. The question was also, would everything be fixed? Well, the 2.0 update revealed that the answer is “no.”
On Reddit, a player noted a very interesting bug/change directly related to the 2.0 update. Specifically, within the main game, you can do a side quest called “Psycho Killer.” It’s a hard quest, depending on your skill level, as you have to deal with literal “cyberpsychos.” However, there’s a twist that CD Projekt Red put in that gets you a great reward if you’re careful. You can get the Trauma Team Armor-Weave Tactical Vest should you go through the entire mission without killing a single psycho. Challenging? Yes. Rewarding? Very. The vest gives V some extra armor padding to ensure that they stay alive in the harshest firefights.
But as a person on Reddit noted, CD Projekt Red changed some key gameplay stats that make the vest useless:
“With the 2.0 changes armour no longer is applied to clothing, so if you went the extra mile to get the ‘secret’ reward for doing it non-lethal you will be so disappointed,” the Redditor posted. “Don’t get me wrong it looks cool but there’s cooler outfits in the game, you don’t even get a ‘trauma team weapon or something.”
That’s right. The “reward” for doing this super tough questline that definitely could’ve been done easily if you fired rounds will now gift you a small cosmetic item. More than likely, CD Projekt Red didn’t think about the consequences of their actions on a grand scale when they thought about this. Obviously, they were getting really clever when they made the quest and its “secret reward” in the initial game. But things have changed and adapted since then, and as a result, a once prized item has been changed for the worse.
The developer may do its best to fix this. Or it could be that Cyberpunk 2077 will have more “issues” like this pop up when gamers realize the full scope of Update 2.0.
