Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Release Day Potentially Leaked

October 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s the latest rumor circulating online.

Elden Ring was a massive hit and easily a game that a player could easily spend countless hours going through. However, we know that FromSoftware is not done with the title quite yet. There is a DLC planned called Shadow of the Erdtree. Unfortunately, details have been scarce, and we’re unsure when this game expansion will pop up again. With that said, a new rumor has started to spread online that not only suggests when we’ll see this game again but also when exactly the expansion will be landing in the marketplace.

This latest rumor that has the internet talking comes from Ziostorm. We’re finding out from Reddit that this individual has shared insight into content from FromSoftware. Today, the user took to X and posted that the game DLC has come up recently on their radar. After speaking with some of their sources, it seems that the plan right now is to schedule a new trailer reveal for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree during this year’s The Game Awards event. However, beyond that, the trailer would unveil that the game would launch into the marketplace on February 5, 2024.

Unverified sources are telling me that Elden Ring DLC is planned to be shown at The Game Awards with a release date of February 5th, 2024.

That would make for a big game release to get excited about when we head into the upcoming year. However, nothing has officially been confirmed right now. So until we get that confirmation from the team over at FromSoftware, we’ll have to label this as nothing more than a rumor. Likewise, this new reveal will hopefully shed more light on what we can expect from this expansion. With as much hype and attention that was put on the base game, there are going to be quite a few players eager to dive into expansion once it launches.

The Game Awards is also a pretty safe bet. Last year, we had the big reveal from the folks over at FromSoftware. If you don’t recall, we got the reveal of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, which is now available to pick up and play. Likewise, The Game Awards is already getting plenty of attention today. Earlier today, we reported on the recent post from Hideo Kojima highlighting the upcoming event. That post has fans wondering if this year’s The Game Awards will also showcase a new trailer for the upcoming Death Stranding 2.

Regardless, for now, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to come out regarding whether FromSoftware plans to highlight a new trailer at the event. In the meantime, if you have yet to pick up Elden Ring, the game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the PC platform. We also have a Before You Buy coverage of the game, which you can view below.
