Death Stranding 2 Might Be Featured During The Game Awards 2023

October 10, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Did Hideo Kojima make a tease?

Update:

This is not the only game that was recently talked about online for the upcoming The Game Awards event. Another title that was recently brought up online is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Original Story…

There are plenty of excited fans about a new installment inbound for Death Stranding. The famed developer started his own studio after Hideo Kojima split off from Konami. With their debut title being Death Stranding, fans worldwide can enjoy the first game on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Fortunately, if you’re a fan of the game, then you know a sequel is in the works. Details are a bit scarce when it comes to Death Stranding 2, but we might see this game appear during The Game Awards 2023.

The Game Awards is an annual celebration event where we get to vote on some of the best games to have released within the year. Awards are then handed out to the developers for their incredible accomplishments. However, this event is also known for delivering several video game announcements and world premieres. So whether you care to look back at some of the past game releases from the year or not, this event has several trailers lined up for what to expect in 2024 and beyond.

Today, thanks to Tech4Gamers, we’re finding out that Hideo Kojima posted something on X that has fans speculating a new trailer is coming at The Game Awards 2023. Hideo only posted an image of The Game Awards, which doesn’t provide very much insight. We know The Game Awards is on December 7, 2023, and this image of the event alone has fans wondering if Hideo Kojima will present a trailer for Death Stranding 2 or if he will simply present an award. There’s really no telling right now, as we’ll have to wait and see. Of course, Hideo Kojima has been present at previous events hosted by Geoff Keighley, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Hideo attend.

With that said, Hideo Kojima has other projects in the works. For instance, we know that there is a game project that he is developing with the help of Microsoft. Unfortunately, we know even less about this project than we do with Death Stranding 2. This is not the only excitement we’ve seen recently when it comes to Death Stranding 2. If you recall, back in August, there were images featuring Keanu Reeves posted by Hideo Kojima that left fans wondering if Keanu would be involved with this project. Likewise, we learned that Hideo Kojima had recently credited the pandemic for the changes made to Death Stranding 2’s storyline. Hopefully, during The Game Awards 2023, we’ll have some questions answered when it comes to this new game installment.
