Cyberpunk 2077 fans are waiting on the first and only expansion CD Projekt Red is bringing to the game. While other expansions were likely planned, a lot of cuts were made to allow developers to fix the base game. So while the studio has turned the gameplay experience around, we are now gearing up for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. This expansion is launching in September, and today, a new trailer has dropped, giving players a look into the visual improvements you can expect with Nvidia’s DLSS 3.5.
If you’re unfamiliar with DLSS 3.5, this is Nvidia’s new supersampling technology. It allows the game to improve the image quality of video games without sacrificing performance. You can expect this technology to be quite a hit for ensuring you’re getting some improved visuals, lighting, and performance that won’t take a hit with this upscale. As mentioned, a new video trailer was released on the official Nvidia GeForce YouTube channel. With this channel, you can get a look at how improved the visuals will look when a player turns DLSS 3.5 on.
Those that want to get into the nitty gritty can get a breakdown of how this technology works on the official Nvidia blog post. You’ll find how DLSS 3.5 is able to use Ray Reconstruction, for instance, which is a new AI-powered technique that helps improve the quality of ray tracing. It might be some technical jargon for some, but the end result is a visually improved gameplay experience. Of course, you’ll have to make sure that the games coming out will support DLSS 3.5, along with ensuring your PC is capable of running DLSS 3.5, as you’ll need RTX GPUs.
As for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, this expansion is set within the base game campaign. You’ll find V gets in the middle of a new spy-thriller experience where you’re out to save the NUSA President. Meanwhile, this will also open up a brand new area in Night City called Dogtown. Here you’ll find new quests, gear, and another faction to potentially deal with. While Cyberpunk 2077 launched for last-generation platforms, we know that Phantom Liberty is only releasing for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Currently, the upcoming expansion is set to launch on September 25, 2023. In the meantime, you can check out the new trailer highlighting DLSS 3.5 in the video we have embedded below.
