Skull & Bones Is Getting A Closed Beta This Month

August 16, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s what you need to know.

Skull & Bones is one game that Ubisoft has difficulty getting into the marketplace. This title has been in the works for several years and has faced a few delays. While some fans might have felt that this game is dead in the water, there’s a new sign of life. Today, we’re finding out that Ubisoft is throwing together a closed beta of Skull & Bones which you can sign up for and attempt to gain access to. Here’s what we know so far regarding the upcoming beta.

Announced through a YouTube video upload, those that want to become an infamous pirate and command a fleet through the rough waters might be able to this month. This August 25, 2023, through August 28, 2023, there will be a closed beta. Players that want to attempt to start their own pirate empire within the Indian Ocean can register for access right here. Then those that are selected will receive an email to join in the closed beta. Unfortunately, this game beta is only available for the PC platform. Likewise, since this is a closed beta, you’ll just have to hope that you’re one of the few accounts that are granted access to the game.

With that said, the closed beta allows those selected to invite friends to join in the action. Each player accepted in the beta will have the ability to invite up to two friends. That should give you an easier time when creating a crew and charting out into the open seas. Likewise, we know that an NDA won’t restrict this game. So all the content experienced can be streamed or captured for others to see online. Fortunately, that means we’ll get a look into this game if you’ve been waiting on its release for the past several years.

Unfortunately, we still don’t have a specific date just yet for the game. As mentioned, Ubisoft has been working on this game for several years. It was first revealed to the public back in E3 2017, with the focus was getting the game out into the marketplace for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms. However, a series of delays have forced the upcoming action-adventure game to land on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC platforms. Likewise, as the name suggests, this is a game centered around piracy and naval warfare. Players will get to customize their pirate ship, command a fleet and work to uncover precious loot within the world. However, you’ll need to be cautious as rival pirate groups and the law might be hot on your trail.
