Xbox Game Pass has some competitors, and if you’re on the PlayStation 5, the alternative to Xbox’s subscription service is PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. It’s a feature that’s locked away behind the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscription tiers. So those on the most basic tier of PlayStation Plus won’t have access to the countless video game titles that are entirely free to download and enjoy. It might persuade you to upgrade your subscription tier and get the extra collection of video games to add to your library.
However, much like the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, not every game that lands on PlayStation Plus Game Catalog will remain on the subscription service. There are some titles that get tossed off the subscription service each month. So today, we’re finding out, thanks to Push Square, of ten games that will see their removal from the subscription service this August. Currently, the games are still available to play, but they are leaving soon, so you might want to check some of these games out now before finding them back on the storefront for purchase.
PlayStation Plus Game Catalog Titles Leaving Soon
- Borderlands 3
- Nidhogg
- DCL Game
- Yakuza 0
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
- Grip
- The Crew 2
- 8-Bit Armies
- Carmageddon: Max Damage
This is your last chance to play through some of these games before they are off the subscription service this August 15, 2023. Of course, we are also expecting a new collection of games to take their place next month. So there should hopefully be a few games worth playing within the upcoming month. After all, services like PlayStation Plus Game Catalog are great for checking out new titles and genres you might have initially passed up when they were first released into the marketplace.
Again, if you haven’t subscribed to the service, you are getting access to hundreds of free video game titles to enjoy. These range from AAA titles to small indie hits. Meanwhile, you’ll also have some of the extra benefits of being a PlayStation Plus subscriber. This includes access to multiplayer gameplay and access to new monthly free games, along with access discounts made specifically for those that are PlayStation Plus, subscribers. But again, to gain access to the Game Catalog, you’ll need to be on PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium.
