It looks like we might know who will take the role of the main protagonist in the next Call of Duty game. We haven’t yet seen anything official from Activision about what this new game will entail. However, we might already have a brief look into the protagonist, thanks to one actor who claimed he’s involved in the game. This comes from actor Luke Charles Stafford who took to social media and shared that he was being used to portray a character for Call of Duty.
We’re finding this out through a report from Insider Gamer, who managed to get the images surfaced from Luke Charles Stafford’s social media accounts. According to the post, Activision decided to adapt the likeness of the actor for a character called Ratcliffe for Call of Duty. It’s not noted exactly what the game would entail, but that didn’t stop the hype train from taking off, with fans speculating on what the game could be. It’s important to note that this game will only feature the likeness of Luke Charles Stafford, as it doesn’t look like the actor was lending his voice. Meanwhile, the images shared offered some behind-the-scenes of Luke’s facial appearance being captured.
Again, we don’t know just what the next installment will be based on; however, it’s widely believed this next installment will be another Call of Duty: Black Ops game. If rumors are to be believed, then the next game would be centered around the Gulf War, which has gained a bit more weight with the name Ratcliffe. According to Insider Gaming, this could be a reference to British Army soldier Peter Ratcliffe who was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for the Gulf War.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see just what exactly this new Call of Duty game will entail. Right now, the focus for most has been less on the game installment coming up and the future of Activision Blizzard. We know Microsoft is still striving to acquire the company for a whopping $69 billion. Fortunately, Microsoft has expressed that Call of Duty will remain on competitor platforms even after being acquired. However, Microsoft is still having discussions with the CMA and soon be dealing with an appeal from the FTC over the purchase. So it might be a good little while before we know if Microsoft will soon have control over the Call of Duty franchise.
