Assassin’s Creed Hexe Will Leave A Lasting Mark For The Franchise

July 11, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

It looks like there will be a big change up for Assassin’s Creed.

The Ubisoft company’s bread and butter might very well be Assassin’s Creed. This franchise has continued to spawn a series of installments, and players following the IP over the years might know that this series is not slowing down anytime soon. Several projects are in the works, and while we know the next installment to land in the marketplace is Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we have some insight into a title beyond that. It looks like a developer from Ubisoft made a bold statement regarding Assassin’s Creed Hexe, a title we only briefly saw last year.

With Assassin’s Creed spanning several eras and locations, we never know where Ubisoft will be taking the series next. But again, last year, we got some brief trailers showcasing projects in the works. One of those titles that are being developed alongside Assassin’s Creed Mirage is Assassin’s Creed Hexe. This upcoming installment is set to follow a story based on the witch trials. However, thanks to a report from Tech4Gamers, we’re discovering that a Linkedin post seeking applications for a Senior Gameplay Animator for the project unveils that this title will leave a mark on the IP.

More specifically, Yara Tabbara, who works at Ubisoft Montreal, spoke about how Assassin’s Creed Hexe will leave a lasting mark on the franchise. It’s a bold claim, and it might mean that this installment will be bringing in a new feature that will continue to span across multiple games. It’s also a title that looks to have more horror and an ominous vibe compared to the previous installments. So it might mean that Ubisoft is looking to expand on the genres we see for this franchise. Unfortunately, it might be a while before we see anything official for Assassin’s Creed Hexe.

Right now, the only trailer we have received for the game is a brief teaser. It provides a bit of a tone for this project, which you can view below. As for the timeline, we know that this game is set during the 16th Century in Central Europe. Unfortunately, we don’t know when this game will launch into the marketplace or what platforms we’ll see available. In the meantime, you can prepare for the next title in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This particular installment will be launching on October 12, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
