Samba De Amigo: Party Central Will Include Sonic Frontiers Theme “I’m Here”

July 11, 2023 by Ryan Parreno

Sega could see a lot of success with this title given the popularity of casual games in the pandemic.

We now know that there will be some crossover DLC for Samba de Amigo: Party Central, including Sonic Frontiers.

The Sonic Music Pack will likely have the newest song from a crossover, as “I’m Here” from Sonic Frontiers was previewed in the latest video for the game. This is only one of the many tracks that will be coming from the game that will be part of this pack. We also already know from before that other classic Sonic tracks “Fist Bump” and “Escape From The City” will also be in the game, so this one promises to bring a lot of fanservice for Sonic fans.

Fans will probably be more interested to know that this pack will also have you dancing next to the blue hedgehog himself, while Amigo wears a Sonic costume of his own. It certainly looks a little strange, but the gameplay does look like it will be fun.

Another pack that fans can look forward to is SEGA Musci Pack, which is part of the Digital Deluxe Edition. This looks like it will include a mix of themes from other classic Sega games.

What was previewed here is Go Go Cheer Girl!, which was found in another Dreamcast rhythm game, Space Channel 5. It fits perfectly, and also will make fans raise the question if Sega could make a new Space Channel 5 game as well.

Finally, this preview gives us an early look at the new CRAZY difficulty, which sounds like it isn’t exactly harder than the highest difficulty on the game, SUPER HARD.

On Crazy, there aren’t as many rhythm beads to contend with, but there will be more posing and dancing around. The movements are technical as well.

As reported by Perfectly Nintendo, this difficulty is supposedly intended for players who want to lose weight. So was this designed to be similar to recent Nintendo fitness game hit Fitness Boxing, or maybe Nintendo’s own Ring Fit Adventure?

And it definitely is no coincidence that Sega decided to bring back Samba de Amigo at a time when those games had proven to be hits. While not all gamers care much for rhythm or exercise games, the genre has certainly seen a revival on Nintendo’s hybrid console. The improved accuracy found in the Joy Cons certainly helps make that possible, but the way the games market changed after the pandemic is also a huge factor in that.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central will be releasing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2023. You can watch the latest gameplay trailer below.
