David Cage, CEO and founder of Quantic Dream, will be unveiling the technology behind the studio's current project during an hour-long lecture at GDC 2012.
The talk will discuss "how real time technologies can be used to create emotion and why he believes storytellers should be in control," with a focus on casting, performance capture, and art direction. The centerpiece of the presentation will be never-before-seen tech demo that showcases Quantic Dream's latest technical advances, presumably offering our first insight into the developer's next game in the process.
The last time Cage hosted a similar unveiling was E3 2006, when he showed off The Casting, a look at the technology the studio was using to create their 2010 title Heavy Rain. Quantic Dream's performance capture tech made for some impressive visuals, though they've arguably been one-upped by L.A. Noire and Naughty Dog's Uncharted series. It'll be interesting to see what advances they've made over the last few years.
GDC 2012 runs from March 5 through 9 at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center.
Thanks, Develop.
