Nexon has released a new update on the back of player feedback for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online’s early access testing, details of which were provided in a press release.
The update focuses on balancing issues including weapons and skills. Other changes include controller support, a new team death-match map, one new weapon (Togusa’s signature Mateba), new Togusa signature skin, and two new weapon skins.
Nexon describes the game as follows: “First Assault references the anime source material while advancing the dark near-future universe and bringing it to a frenetic but tactical first-person shooter game environment. As an elite, augmented soldier, players will advance and master their character with upgrades and unlocks as they succeed in combat. Each character has exclusive attributes that reflect features of the original franchise, such as Motoko Kusanagi’s ‘Therm-optic Camouflage’ cloaking technology or Saito’s ability to enhance his vision and highlight enemy soldiers.”
The recently added Togusa, meanwhile is said to be something of an anomaly given his lack of cybernetic enhancements in a world where most augment their bodies. That doesn’t mean he’s entirely out of the loop, Togusa uses his cyberbrain to connect to the Net and communicate with other Section 9 Operatives.
