Rumor: Two More Guest Characters Might Have Leaked For Mortal Kombat 1

May 23, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Fight!

Mortal Kombat fans can get into another bout this September. It wasn’t long ago that NetherRealm Studios unveiled that the next Mortal Kombat title was in the works. However, rather than being dubbed Mortal Kombat 12, we are getting Mortal Kombat 1, a title described as not a continuation of Mortal Kombat 11’s storyline. Instead, we’re getting a new story set in a different timeline. We even will see some characters get reintroduced, and we’re certainly eager to see if their storylines have drastically changed.

But what might have some fans eager for the next installment is the fact that we could see just about anyone show in the game. Mortal Kombat titles have featured a variety of crossover franchises in the past. So with this next installment, there’s no telling just who or what might end up in the game. Fortunately, that has sparked plenty of speculation and supposed leaks. For example, one of the leaks that have started circulating online suggests that we’ll see two individuals show up in the game.

The two in question are actress Megan Fox and musical artist Travis Scott. Thanks to a report from Gamerant, we’re learning the rumors originate from the podcast Sacred Symbols, which also noted that Jean-Claude Van Damme’s appearance ahead of the reveal suggests that these two characters will be featured. However, don’t expect them to be completely playable characters with their own moves. Instead, it looks like these two will be just skins to be featured on another character.

Typically we see crossover characters from different franchises, so it might be a bit of a surprise to see these two individuals featured. Although that has left others wondering how many other skins we could potentially see in the game if NetherRealm Studios is interested in bringing iconic individuals into the game. Of course, we will just have to wait and see if this actually is the case, as nothing official has been confirmed on the two potential guest characters.

As for Mortal Kombat 1, the game is set to take place on a different timeline. With it comes a new fighting system and the reintroduction of characters. Currently, Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on September 19, 2023. When the game does release, you’ll find it available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. In the meantime, you can always go back and enjoy the previous installment release, Mortal Kombat 11. After all, since the Mortal Kombat 1 announcement, there has been a resurgence of players on Mortal Kombat 11.
