Inspired By Syndicate, Tokyo42 Is A Very Good Looking Game

March 30, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

Tokyo 42 looks pretty damn hot.

Tokyo42
comes from SMAC Games and is being published by the makers of Frozen Synapse, Mode 7. Announced today, the title draws inspiration from Bullfrog’s classic isometric action game, Syndicate, as well as the original Grand Theft Auto. There’s also a bit of stealth in there. The game can be described as an isometric shooter with stealth and open-world elements.

The game will also feature multiplayer arenas for online battles.

Tokyo42 puts players in the role of an assassin, who hunts down his targets in the futuristic and brightly colored open-world environment of future Tokyo. Just look at it:

The trailer is gorgeous, and I’m pretty damn excited to see (and hear! Have you listened to the synthpop soundtrack?) more of the game. It’s set for release in 2017.

Tokyo42 will also be heading to this year’s EGX Rezzed event in the UK, which takes place from April 7 to 9.
