Harry Potter has had a resurgence lately. There was a big following for the IP recently, thanks to the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Likewise, it wasn’t long ago that we learned about the reboot of the films, which would be adapted into a television series. Unfortunately, while gamers might be keen on getting more from Hogwarts Legacy, we don’t have anything to report on the game. But we know that WB Games has unveiled yet another game set in the magical wizarding world universe.
If you recall, Hogwarts Legacy was released without the fantasy sport quidditch. The game is well beloved in the Harry Potter IP, and it’s mentioned countless times in Hogwarts Legacy. You even have the ability to fly around on a broom and view the court set up for quidditch. But the sport itself wasn’t implemented into the game. We’re uncertain just why the sport wasn’t included, but fans could speculate that it was because WB Games had another title in the works that were completely dedicated to the fantasy sport. Today we’re getting the reveal of Harry Potter Quidditch Champions.
The reveal didn’t come with much more than just a page of FAQs right now. What we know is that this game is set to be a competitive multiplayer experience. With the game focusing on quidditch matches, players will be able to compete against other random players online or join some friends for a match. We’re not sure just where this game will take place in the Harry Potter franchise just yet, nor do we have a trailer to reveal the gameplay. However, playtests will be happening, and players can sign up for a chance to try out the game right here.
In the meantime, we’re still left waiting on a release date and what platforms the game will be available on. While the release date is not set, the developers working on the game, Unbroken Studios, are hopeful of bringing this game to PC and consoles. As for what consoles, that will remain a mystery for now. Meanwhile, if you’re unfamiliar with the development studio, these folks are aiding Rocksteady Studios in developing Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which was recently delayed to 2024. In the meantime, if you want to dive into some Harry Potter-themed video games, you can currently enjoy Hogwarts Legacy, a title that takes place well before the events of Harry Potter’s storyline.
