The official blog of ArenaNet was updated today with Mike O’Brien, President and Founder of developer ArenaNet, giving an update on the last stages of Guild War 2’s development. In the post, O’Brien states that beta testing will be expanding significantly and fairly soon. “We recently finished our first closed beta test, and we’re now ready to hold progressively larger events. In February we’ll invite select press to participate in beta testing, and in March and April we’ll aggressively ramp up the size of our beta test events so that many of you will have a chance to participate. “
O’Brien also confirmed that Guild Wars 2 will officially launch some time later this year.
The sequel is set to follow suit of its predecessor by not having monthly fees that large MMOs typically have and promises to bring a new style of game play and questing to the table.
