With Ben Affleck’s Batman set to go up against Superman this weekend, another Batman, played by the much funnier Will Arnett, isn’t one to be left out from having an adventure of his own. The character, who was introduced in The Lego Movie not too long ago will be getting his own movie early next year in The Lego Batman Movie.
Today, the first images have surfaced, all of which you can check out below.
The film is being produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo who brought us The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street. Arnett will be reprising his role as the billionaire playboy, and he’ll be joined by Ralph Fiennes in the role of his butler Alfred. Michael Cera quite fittingly plays the role of Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, and the ever hilarious Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. For some reason, Mariah Carey’s been cast as the mayor of Gotham city. There’s no word on who will be playing Commissioner Gordon, if he’s even in it.
Chris McKay will be directing the movie. He previously worked on The Lego Movie as its animation director.
Should The Lego Batman Movie retain the quality of its predecessor, then we’re going to be in for a great time. It’ll be out in theaters on February 10, 2017.
