Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide Released By Nintendo

March 21, 2023 by Todd Black

Better late than never!

There’s little doubt that The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild is one of the most impactful games of the last decade. It helped propel the franchise to new heights and give new life to an already beloved series. The simple yet profound shift to an open-world style, while also allowing players unprecedented freedom, helped gamers latch onto it and play it for hours upon hours. Some even claim they have put many hundreds of hours into the title. However, if you’re new to the Nintendo Switch family and are wondering how to handle the game, Nintendo is here to help.

That’s because yesterday, they released a free “Breath of the Wild Explorer’s Guide” to understand the game, how to play it, and more. They even give you a brief history of the franchise so that you’re not in the dark about some of the deeper lore of the series. But, just as interesting, the guide isn’t small. There are nearly 100 pages in this guide for you to read and get advice from. They even dive into the DLC a little so that you can get excited about that after your main journey.

You can check out the guide, for free, via the link in the tweet below:

Many have had a question once the guide went live: “Why is Nintendo doing this now?” That is a very fair question and somewhat easy to answer. We can’t say why they didn’t do this sooner or even a year after the game’s release. It would’ve been helpful to the new gamers that came around and possibly given even more insight to those who have played it previously and wanted to see it with “new eyes.”

However, we can say that they’re doing this now versus later because the sequel is coming out soon. Tears of the Kingdom will release on May 12th, and many hope it lives up to what the original launch title for the Switch did in terms of quality, freedom, and fun.

The irony is that many fans would definitely wish for a “guide” for the sequel because Nintendo has been infuriatingly basic in the details and trailers that it’s dropped for the title. As a result, we’re less than two months away from the game’s release, and we still don’t know much about it.

So enjoy the guide for the past game to be ready for the future title.
