Bioware’s first attempt at creating an MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, has had a relatively smooth launch, especially in comparison with the likes of Anarchy Online, and even World of Warcraft. Having a relatively long beta test undoubtedly helped to polish the game prior to its release.
With that said, the game isn’t without numerous balance issues and bugs. The publisher had plans to shut down the servers at 3AM tonight to release the game’s first patch, version 1.1. However, due to feedback Bioware received from its testers, the patch is getting delayed.
Bioware has yet to disclose when they intend to launch the update, but it should happen sometime in “the next few days,” once the deal with the problems introduced by the new patch.
