StarCraft II expansion Nova Covert Ops will be here very soon. Announced last fall, this stand-alone spin-off, playable without a copy of the base StarCraft II game, will feature three story packs starring the character November Terra aka Nova, each with three missions, for a total of nine across all installments.
The gameplay is described as classic StarCraft II with a few brand-new mechanics, and the story will center on Nova as she seeks uses her powers as a psionic ghost and covert op to root out a mysterious conspiracy threatening the reign of Emperor Valerian Mengsk.
The first episode of this three part mission-based content pack will release on March 29, 2016. Those who pre-order Nova Covert Ops will receive a special in-game avatar as a thank you from Blizzard, and players who purchase the entire bundle will also get a ghost unit skin for StarCraft II base game. They will also receive a discount on the price of the mission pack, at $14.99 reduced from $22.47.
A full expansion for StarCraft II, entitled Legacy of The Void, was released to positive reviews as the third and final part of the StarCraft II trilogy this past Novembe. Blizzard says they continue to plan to support the game with new mission packs, of which Nova Covert Ops is the first. There are no other mission packs yet announced however.
