In the new Dev Diary video, BioWare Pulse discusses the character development and writing process of Mass Effect 3 with Lead Writer Mac Walters. They also touched on the game as a whole and what we can expect overall, which lead to some interesting comments.
"One of the goals we set out for at the beginning of Mass Effect 3 was to treat like it was a movie … and it was the movie." said Walters. "We really want to people who are just picking this up for the first time to just be able to jump in." he continued. This statement will probably bother many of the hardcore Mass Effect fans; however, he did add that "For the players who, of course, played Mass Effect 1 and 2, they can dig deeper, they can find out what their choices did.”
Though it seems like the third and final game of the franchise will be the most self-contained story of the bunch, it will still undoubtedly be an epic conclusion to a great series.
Mass Effect 3 is set to hit shelves on March 6th.
