Hogwarts Legacy is one of this year’s more anticipated and hyped-up video games. Naturally, players couldn’t wait to start their own unique wizarding journey in the world made famous by the iconic Harry Potter franchise. However, just because the game is set within the same universe doesn’t mean you’ll meet Harry Potter and his friends. Instead, this game takes place well before the events of the first Harry Potter novel. But fortunately, there are still quite a few moments you’ll share that were also featured in the novels and cinematic movies.
Today, a new official trailer upload showcases some of those iconic moments being featured in the video game. Whether it’s a wizard duel, attending classes, interacting with mythical creatures, or just exploring the massive Hogwarts castle, you’ll get all this and more in Hogwarts Legacy. The latest video, which you can view above, shows off some of these similar moments. Although, there are bound to be even more similarities as you progress through the game itself. Fortunately, you can do that right now as the game did launch last week, so if this has been a game on your radar, you might have already been going through the campaign.
Again, as mentioned, this game takes place before the events of Harry Potter. In the title, players are taking the role of a customized student accepted late into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It seems our protagonist holds a special and rare attribute that allows them to see ancient magic. With this power being incredibly rare, players will embark on a journey to hone in on this power, along with embarking on a new mysterious quest.
We will, of course, refrain from any spoilers here. But players will have an epic journey to go through in this game. Although, there are also a variety of side quests available. So if you rather tackle some of the problems other students are dealing with at Hogwarts, you can set the main campaign on the back burner. Currently, Hogwarts Legacy is available to pick up and play right now on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Those of you who want to enjoy the game on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms will have to wait for a release later this year. In the meantime, you can check out our official Before You Buy video coverage in the video we have embedded below.
