The official website for Anime Japan 2023 revealed on Monday that Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You Season 2 will release in April 2023. The series will have its own stage during Anime Japan 2023 on March 25 where more information about the upcoming season will be revealed. The series released a trailer for the upcoming season back in November that you can watch below. Studio Seven Arcs is returning to animate Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You Season 2 with Crunchyroll streaming the anime across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
A majority of the staff and cast from the previous season and special episode will be returning for Season 2. The special episode titled Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You ~Uniform~ Special Episode was released on November 22, 2022, and is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll along with the first season.

The anime is based on the manga (Fly Me To The Moon) written and illustrated by Kenjiro Hata. The series began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Sunday in February 2018 and has since released a total of 22 volumes. US-based publisher VIZ Media currently publishes the series in English with the first 15 volumes already release. Volume 16 will release on March 14 and Volume 17 on May 9.
The manga series Fly Me To The Moon currently has over 25 million copies in circulation as of January 2023.
