Dead Space Remake Will Look Even Better After This Upcoming Update

January 30, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Developers are currently working on a new improvement update.

The remake for the highly anticipated release of Dead Space is over. This past weekend most of you probably have already started up your campaign and battled through the USG Ishimura. However, just like with most games released into the marketplace, there are a few bugs to work out. Updates are typically released shortly after as studios attempt to clear out some of these issues. Today, we’re finding out that a new update is rolling out for the game soon, allowing the visuals to get a decent bump on PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.

This information comes from a post on the Dead Space subreddit. Some fans took notice that there was an issue regarding VRS, which is the variable rate shading. Fans noticed that with VRS, shadowed areas within the game had lost some of their finer details. That’s something that Motive Studio, the developers behind the Dead Space remake, is looking to resolve. As mentioned, a community manager for EA posted on the Dead Space subreddit and noted that the development studio is working on a patch that will improve this issue on the PlayStation 5 platform.

Latest update on the PS5 issue from DeadSpace

Additionally, we know that the developers are also looking to bring an option that completely disables the VRS for the game’s PC version. That should make Dead Space look even better when the update is available. Unfortunately, there was no indication of when this update would be available, so Dead Space remake players are left waiting. Some fans have even noted within the post that they will refrain from progressing forward until the update comes out. With Dead Space relying heavily on immersion, graphical issues like this might ruin the atmospheric experience.

Regardless, it’s at least nice knowing that the development team is working to rectify this issue. Dead Space is available to pick up today if you haven’t already done so. Players can purchase the game for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Meanwhile, we have a Before You Buy video coverage on the remake title, which you can view down below. With the video coverage, we’re looking to avoid spoiling anything for the narrative but provide some gameplay footage. Likewise, we’ll give you some of our overall impressions of the gameplay experience in hopes of giving you a better idea if the game is worth the purchase or not.
