The Game Developer’s Choice Awards is to the VGAs what the Oscars is to the MTV Movie awards, so when you’re nominated it actually is a pretty big deal. The nominees for the 2012 awards have been announced, and you’ll be quite pleased at who’s in the race.
Skyim and Portal 2 are nominated for Game of The Year, along with Dark Souls, Batman: Arkham City and Dues Ex: Human Revolution.
Other nominations include The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Best Game Design, Saints Row: The Third for Best Narrative and Tiny Tower for Best Handheld/Mobile Game. Fans of Bastion will be thrilled to know that the game has been nominated for 4 awards, including Best Debut and Best Audio.
The awards will be held in March at the San Fransisco Game Developers Confrence, and will be held on the same night and in the same location as the Independents Game Festival Awards. You can find an entire list of nominations over at Kotaku.
Hopefully Charlie Sheen doesn’t show up to this one.
