During the 2016 DICE Summit, Todd Howard made mention of Bethesda Game Studios current standings. Todd revealed that Bethesda was working on three big projects at the current moment, but it wasn’t revealed as to what these three big projects were. Now, about a month later, Todd Howard regrets saying a specific number during the DICE Summit and that gamers shouldn’t expect any big announcements on those three video games anytime soon.
There have been strong speculations as to what Bethesda Game Studios is currently working on. Back when Todd Howard made mention of these three big crazy projects that are currently in the works, we speculated that perhaps one of those projects may be the next installment of The Elder Scrolls series, but that was purely speculation on our point. Todd Howard recently spoke with Gameindustry.biz as he mentions how he should have never spoke about how many projects Bethesda is currently working on.
I should have never said a number because we have so many things. You could add it up in different ways. You could say it’s bigger or smaller. They’re a long way off. I think the larger point was, no one should expect to hear about those [games] anytime soon. We always overlap projects. We just have more going on now than we had before. Part of that’s the growth of the studio. We have the Montreal studio now and we’re going to be doing different things. We feel we have a pretty good footing and we’re in a particular place and time where we can try some new things and be confident that they’ll find some success.
As you may recall, Bethesda recently opened up a new studio in Montreal, Quebec where the developers staffed are meant for expanding development in not only console and PC games but also mobile titles as well. While we may be in the dark as to what these three specific projects Todd Howard was referring to within Bethesda, it seems to be pretty clear that the development studio has plenty of work on their plates.
For now, gamers can expect the first Fallout 4 paid DLC known as Automatron which will be releasing this month for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
