DIY Homicidal Potato AI

December 26, 2011 by Elizabeth DeLoria

You know what I was really hoping for this Christmas? My own homicidal A.I confined to a potato. Oh, wait, ThinkGeek has that.

You know what I was really hoping for this Christmas? My own homicidal A.I confined to a potato. Oh, wait, ThinkGeek has that.

That’s right. You too can turn a potato into something a little bit more sinister with ThinkGeek’s Portal 2 PotatOS Science Kit. The kit comes with everything you’ll need to embody a potato with a super computer who wants nothing more than to kill you – except for the potato itself, you’ve got to buy that.

Once fully assembled, your potato will light up and talk with 17 different quotes from GLaDOS herself (or PotatOS as she’s known in her more ‘organic’ form.) The kit also comes with a really nifty science fair backdrop with new material from Valve’s writing team. Oh how we laughed and laughed.

While the potato doesn’t actually power PotatOS herself, the battery is included, ensuring she has plenty of energy to insult you with.

ThinkGeek has said they’ll offer a refund should your PotatOS try to kill everyone, but you’ll have to survive the deadly neurotoxin first.
