Capcom has confirmed the return of a fan favorite in Ace Attorney 6: Kurain Channeling Technique master Maya Fey.
Capcom shared a new trailer, and the official Japanese Ace Attorney Twitter account also revealed her return.

The trailer helps explain the setting. While Phoenix is busy taking on cases in the Kingdom of Kurain, Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes have to uphold the Phoenix law firm name back at home. Maya comes to Phoenix herself, explaining that she has improved her abilities, and is eager to be by his side once again. Maya is also, once again, involved in one of the cases Phoenix will be prosecuting in Kurain. One final and interesting detail in the trailer is how the Mystic Princess Leifa, who has Kurain-based abilities of her own, clumps Maya together with Phoenix as foreigners.
Maya Fey, the head of the Fey clan, was raised in a matriarchal, small village referred to as Kurain Village, or Medium Valley. Maya first met Phoenix when her sister Mia Fey was murdered. After Maya channeled Mia to help Phoenix find the real killer, Maya became Phoenix’s assistant. Maya became a series mainstay, even joining Phoenix in crossover games Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Marvel Vs Capcom 3.
Maya’s Kurain Village and Leifa’s Kingdom of Kurain are clearly different locations, but they share spirit medium traditions and the Kurain channeling technique. Do you think there’s a bigger connection between the two than it first appears? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Ace Attorney 6 will release in Japan in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. Capcom has confirmed that it will be coming to the West. You can watch a fansubbed version of the trailer below.
