Facebook has revealed their most popular games for 2011, and the results might surprise you.
The results are based on user rating versus the number of monthly players, and include the most popular facebook games as well as the top games in more specific catagories.
The most popular game this year wasn’t the Sims Social or even CityVille, which ranked second and third respectively, but Playdom’s Gardens of Time. While Zynga didn’t take the top spot this year, they had four games in the top 10: CityVille, Indiana Jones Adventure World, Empires & Allies and Words With Friends.
Zynga Poker took out the title of most popular casino game, while TopEleven – Be a Football Manager was declared best sports game, and Mall World was crowned as the top fashion game this year.
"The average game player on Facebook played more than three different gaming titles each month and played more than half the days they visited the site," Facebook said in a statement.
