Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’s CJ, GTA 4’s Niko Bellic, GTA: Vice City Tommy Vercetti, and GTA III’s Claude all come together in this video from the Hat-Loving Gamer YouTuber channel, which depicts Rockstar’s long-running series as another, Game Freak’s Pokémon.
As you’d expect, places such as the PokéMart become Ammu-Nation stores and you have the added option of stealing money in stores. Instead of the Pokémon option during battles, you get to choose your weapon. Unlike the actual Pokémon games, you can use vehicles to get around the map and you can choose your vehicle from garage tab in the options menu.
The battles and all of the other mechanics are similar to the classic Pokémon titles. And let’s just say Pokémon Gyms are somewhat different from the game versions.
Hat-Loving Gamer has previously made a video depicting various games such as Mario, Zelda, Sonic, and Halo in the guise of Pokémon.
The Pokémon Company recently released the original Pokémon games, Blue, Red, and Yellow. The game are available from the Virtual Console segment of the 3DS eShop for $9.99 each and are exactly as they were when they originally released, including some of the glitches.
Players have the option to export Pokémon from the games to the Pokémon Bank for use in Pokémon Sun and Moon later this year.
There have been rumours in recent months that Rockstar is making single player DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5 but that has not yet been confirmed. Of course, we’ll keep you informed should that change.
