EA has given the free-to-play model a much needed injection of irony with their latest addition to Need for Speed World's in-game store, a "premium elite" car with a $100 dollar pricetag, the Koenigsegg CCX Elite Edition.
Sure, that's a lot of money for a digital car, but look at it this way: if you bought the real thing, it'd cost you around $545,000. That's a savings of over 99%! Plus, if you pick it up before the December 21, you'll get the car even cheaper, for a measly $75!
Ah, who am I kidding? This is nothing more than a silly publicity stunt on EA's part, and anyone who pays that much for a bunch of polygons is a grade-A chump.
If you're a one-percenter looking to show the world how rich you are, I've got a better alternative: Just mail an envelope full of money to Gameranx headquarters and we'll spread the word for you.
