When it comes to digital marketplaces on the PC platform, there are a plethora of options. Mainly, the dominant digital marketplace for gaming on PC has been Valve’s Steam storefront. The service has been around for ages and delivers an assortment of useful features outside of providing video games to purchase digitally. However, one of the big competitors to really give Valve a run for its money is the Epic Games Store. Outside of making deals to secure video game titles as exclusives for the platform, Epic Games Store also provides free video game titles weekly.
There are no strings attached here. All PC gamers have to do is make a free account on the Epic Games Store, and from there, you’ll have a new game or two each week for free. These games also range from small indie hits to some big AAA releases. As a result, quite a few users jump onto the digital client each week, but that might soon become a daily occurrence. In the past, Epic Games Store has provided free video games more often for the holiday season. That trend could very well continue this year.
A report from VGC has noted that billbill-kun from Dealabs has stated more free games will be coming daily during the holiday season. This user has reportedly been correct with other past video game promotions and deals ahead of their announcement. Unfortunately, we’re not certain just when the daily free games offer will happen this year. According to the insider, the offer will happen somewhere between December 15 through January 10, 2023.
We’ll likely see quite a bit of attention turned to Epic Games Store as they unveil the free daily game offers. But again, while we wait for the upcoming month’s holiday season promo to hit, there are still free weekly games. This particular week Epic Games Store is offering players a free copy of Star Wars: Squadrons, a game that came out back in October 2020. Likewise, we know that the upcoming week’s free video game deal will go back to offering two games. Starting on December 1 through December 8, players will be able to claim a copy of Fort Triumph and RPG in a Box. In the meantime, you can still claim Star Wars: Squadrons, as it will be available until December 1. Likewise, we have a Before You Buy video coverage on the title, which you can view in the video embedded below.
