Twitter has revealed that Guitar Hero was the most tweeted about game in 2011.
Guitar Hero, which caused waves of heated discussion and debate on the social networking powerhouse when it was announced in February that Activision was officially canning the series, was the third most popular Tech subject this year behind ‘Mac Apple Store’ and ‘Sony NGP.’
Duke Nukem Forever also appeared on the list at number five, while Nintendo 3DS ranked at number three, and Mortal Kombat followed close by at number nine. Surprisingly, while Call of Duty: Black Ops was the most popular game topic on twitter last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 didn’t even make the list this year.
Twitter stats can probably be taken with a grain of salt, however – Rebecca Black was the most talked about musician on twitter this year, while McLobster topped the food and drink list.
Thor was also the most talked about movie of 2011, but that one was probably my bad.
