DokeV Has Officially Been Delayed Outside of 2023

November 14, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

It will be awhile before you can catch Dokebi.

DokeV was an exciting game right from its initial reveal. This is a big release from Pearl Abyss and one they had initially hoped to release in 2023. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case, as the studio confirmed it had delayed the game, which pushes it outside of the planned 2023 launch window. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean the game has been killed off. If you want to venture into this new game world and hunt for Dokebi, then you’ll still have the chance to. Although, it just means you’ll be waiting a bit longer than the developers had anticipated.

Pearl Abyss unveiled that DokeV was delayed during their Q3 earnings presentation. That’s some bitter news to hear, but again, this is just a delay. The full breakdown of what caused the delay seems to be based on another game project the studio is working on. Most of the team has seemed to pivot towards the launch of Crimson Desert.

This is Pearl Abyss’s next big title and another game that was hit with a delay. Fortunately, for fans who anticipated Crimson Desert, the delay just pushed the game further back into 2023 rather than outside of the upcoming year.

For those who might not be familiar with DokeV, this is an upcoming open-world action-adventure title. While we don’t have the specifics about the game just yet, we do know that DokeV is set within a world where people’s dreams power up creatures called Dokebi. These creatures take on a wide assortment of forms, and it’s up to you to capture them.

Players will embark on a journey to find Dokebi, collect them, and allow them to aid players during different battles. Again, some of the specifics on DokeV have yet to be unveiled. We’re likely not going to see too much more about DokeV until later on in 2023 since the studio has become more focused on releasing their Crimson Desert title into the marketplace.

Regardless, there is plenty of internal development going on over at Pearl Abyss, as both games are still in progress. It’s worth noting that if you’re unfamiliar with the studio, they got their start back in 2014. This is a South Korean development studio that brought out Black Desert. Since then, the studio has been working on other projects, such as the mentioned two titles. We even have a video highlighting DokeV, which you can check out in the video player embedded down below.
