12 Indie Developers Donating Sales to Charity

December 5, 2011 by Elizabeth DeLoria

If you’re looking to help out some people who need it and want to help support indie developers, now is a good time to get shopping.

If you’re looking to help out some people who need it and want to help support indie developers, now is a good time to get shopping.

As part of a ‘12 Indie Apps for Christmas’ campagn, 12 indie iOS developers have pledged 25% of sales made in December (after Apple takes their 30% share from profits) to either Child’s Play or Doctors Without Borders.

The games will be sold seperately and not in a bundle this time, so you can pick and choose if you wish. However, the list is a pretty solid one. Participating titles are:

  • Harbor Master by Imangi Studios
  • Galcon Labs by Galcon
  • Tilt to Live by One Man Left
  • iBlast Moki by Godzilab
  • Disc Drivin' by Pixelocity Software
  • Christmas Air Hockey by Acceleroto
  • Smiles HD by Sykhronics Entertainment
  • Full Deck Word Games by GRL Games
  • Trainyard by Magicule
  • Red Nova by Celsius Game Studios
  • Velocispider by Retro Dreamer
  • Sword of Fargoal by Fargoal

"While we could have just individually made a decision to donate to charity and been done with it, we felt that by working together we could make a bigger impact and raise even more money for charity than any one of us could on our own.” A statement on the official website reads.

This is a really good chance to bump up your iOS library and help some people who really need it in the process. And these are some really good games, too.

Happy hunting.
